He won the European Under-19 title at the age of 14 and is the youngest player to play at the Crucible Theatre after qualifying for the 2012 World Championship aged 17. In 2017, Brecel became the first player from mainland Europe to win a ranking event by defeating Shaun Murphy in the final of the China Championship.
