Dong Jingwei (simplified Chinese: 董经纬; traditional Chinese: 董經緯; pinyin: Dǒng Jīngwěi; born November 18, 1963) is a Chinese politician who has served as Vice Minister of State Security, and head of counterintelligence for the Chinese Ministry of State Security (also known as the MSS or Guoanbu) since 2018. In June 2021 unconfirmed reports surfaced alleging his defection to the United States.[1]
